Start with who controls the land
A shared driveway can cross private parcels or areas managed by an association. Identify the owners and any responsible road representative before asking for a combined treatment scope. The right to travel along a driveway does not, by itself, establish who may authorize vegetation application on adjoining land. Where permission is unclear, have the responsible parties resolve it before including the area in the project.
Describe the proposed vegetation areas
Use a simple map or recognizable landmarks to show which portions you want reviewed. Note where grass, shrubs, trees or maintained landscaping change along the route. WTG evaluates suitable ground pretreatment within agreed boundaries. The request should distinguish those areas from the road surface, neighboring lots, drainage features and any locations outside the authorized work.
Coordinate everyday access
Discuss deliveries, resident movements, parked vehicles, gates and narrow sections that may affect equipment access. Name one contact who can help coordinate the visit, while keeping approval authority clear for each owner. If work requires temporary arrangements for how the driveway is used, those should be agreed directly rather than assumed from a calendar invitation.
Keep road maintenance in the conversation
Grading, ditch work, mowing and tree care may change the vegetation or access conditions. Tell WTG about upcoming work so that application planning reflects the intended site. A treatment proposal does not include those separate services unless explicitly agreed. Clear sequencing can prevent an application plan from becoming outdated before the visit occurs.
Keep emergency expectations accurate
Roadside pretreatment cannot guarantee that a driveway will remain passable during a wildfire. Official evacuation planning and local access guidance remain separate responsibilities. The useful outcome of a WTG review is a defined vegetation scope, practical arrangements and documentation that the participating owners understand. Start with the address and shared-road context, and we can discuss the areas you want considered.
