Use the final design as a starting point
Share the landscape plan and identify what is definite versus still being chosen. Mark vegetation to remain, new planting areas and hardscape. Ask the designer how wildfire preparation has been considered. A treatment estimate based only on the existing yard may not describe the project after renovation.
Establish the work sequence
Discuss removal, soil work, irrigation changes and planting with the responsible contractors. Ask WTG when a site review would be useful and what conditions need to be confirmed before application. Do not choose an application date solely because it falls between two deliveries; the actual vegetation and applicable instructions matter.
Close the information gap
After installation, send current photographs and note changes from the design. Record areas still awaiting plants or repairs. The approved treatment footprint should refer to the completed conditions, with unfinished areas clearly identified. Keep later alterations with the application record so a future review does not assume the original landscape remained unchanged.
