Can Wildfire Treatment Be Planned When the Owner Is Away?

Arrange approval and site communication without assuming remote photos resolve every condition.

Clarify what can be handled remotely

Send current property information and ask WTG what further review is needed. Photographs may support the initial conversation without replacing every on-site observation. Identify a representative who can explain the grounds and provide approved access if a visit is arranged.

Define the representative’s authority

State whether that person may only coordinate access or can also approve scope changes. Give the provider a way to reach the decision maker during the agreed work window. Do not leave the crew or caretaker to infer approval for an unexpected area simply because the owner is unavailable.

Agree on the completion handoff

Ask how the approved work and any changes will be documented for you. Keep the map, exclusions and follow-up questions together. An unattended visit should still have a clear authorization and record. If necessary information or access cannot be confirmed, resolve that before proceeding rather than relying on a vague instruction to do whatever is needed.
