Identify the connection
CSFS recommends replacing combustible fencing or gates near the home. A useful first step is to photograph where each fence connects to a building, including side gates and less visible rear corners. Ask a qualified contractor what changes fit your structure and current local guidance.
Include how the gate is used
A proposed change must still account for daily access, animals, deliveries and maintenance. Tell the contractor whether the gate is an equipment entrance or the only route to a rear yard. Ask who will remove old material, restore disturbed ground and coordinate any required permissions. Do not assume a fence visible from your yard is solely your responsibility.
Update the treatment map
If fencing work changes access or disturbs vegetation, show the revised layout to WTG before application. The fence itself should not be assumed to be an approved treatment surface. Keeping the fence project and vegetation scope distinct helps avoid an application being planned around a gate that will be removed or an entrance that will be blocked.
