Hiring a Fire Mitigation Contractor: Match the Scope to the Need

Clarify the work you need before comparing a clearing contractor, building specialist or pretreatment provider.

By Wildfire Treatment Group.

Describe the job before the service label

A search for a fire mitigation company can bring together very different businesses. Describe the actual work you need reviewed: tree removal, debris handling, building changes or vegetation pretreatment. Ask the provider which of those tasks it performs. A shared search term does not mean two companies offer interchangeable work.

Ask for relevant evidence

Request information about experience with the proposed task, who will perform it and what written scope you will receive. Ask the provider to clarify any credential it cites and the activity that credential covers. Keep references, product documentation and the proposal together rather than relying on a slogan.

Position WTG correctly

WTG focuses on planned Komodo ground application to suitable vegetation and fuels. Clearing, construction and emergency response should not be assumed to be included. If several providers are needed, agree on the sequence and a contact for unresolved conditions. Compare quotes only after each one clearly identifies the work, exclusions and handoff.
