Choose an achievable activity
NFPA’s Wildfire Community Preparedness Day encourages communities to take action and build awareness. Use its current resources to select an activity appropriate for your group. A focused educational session or agreed maintenance task is easier to organize than an undefined promise to prepare every property in one day.
Assign practical responsibilities
Identify the organizer, the approved location and who communicates with participants. Ask the appropriate local professionals for guidance on the work being considered. Keep activities within the group’s capabilities and permissions; a community event is not authorization to enter other property or perform specialized application.
Connect the event to later work
Record questions and unfinished tasks for follow-up. If residents want WTG to review suitable vegetation afterward, collect interest without implying that attendance authorizes or purchases treatment. Keep any private proposals separate from the event and do not represent NFPA campaign participation as endorsement of a product or contractor.
